Interior Painting in Ontario

A good interior paint job is mostly work you never see. The difference between paint that looks sharp for ten years and paint that starts flaking at the first humid summer comes down to prep: filling nail pops, sanding old drips flat, spot-priming stains and water marks, and caulking the gap where trim meets wall. The actual rolling is the fast part.

We quote everything from a single bedroom to every wall, ceiling and door in the house. Lots of customers call us right before listing a home for sale or right after getting the keys β€” an empty house paints faster and cheaper than a furnished one, so if you're between the two, that's the moment.

Not sure about colour? Painters see more of what actually works in Ontario houses than any paint chip wall can show you. Ask for a second opinion before committing to five gallons of the wrong grey.

What affects the price

  • How many rooms and how tall the ceilings are β€” stairwells and two-storey foyers take staging
  • Condition of the walls; a smoke-stained or heavily patched wall needs priming before colour
  • Colour change β€” covering a deep red or navy takes extra coats
  • Whether trim, doors and ceilings are included or just walls
  • How much furniture needs moving and protecting
  • Paint quality you choose; builder-grade and premium lines cover very differently
  • Occupied home vs empty home β€” empty is always faster

Every home is different, so we don’t publish flat prices β€” the quote is free and based on your actual job.

Common questions

How long does it take to paint a room?
A standard bedroom in decent shape is usually a one-day job including prep and two coats. Add time if there's wallpaper glue, heavy patching, or a dramatic colour change underneath.
Do I need to move everything out first?
No β€” furniture gets shifted to the middle and covered. That said, anything you can clear out ahead of time saves paid hours, and closets can't be painted while they're full.
What's the deal with paint smell β€” when can we sleep in the room?
Modern low-VOC latex paints have very little odour, and a bedroom painted in the morning is normally fine to sleep in that night with the window cracked. Oil-based products on trim take longer to off-gas, which is one reason they're used less these days.
Can you match the existing colour if I just want touch-ups?
Usually, if you know the brand and name, or have a leftover can with the mixing label. Matching from a wall sample works too, but a whole-wall repaint hides better than spot touch-ups on paint that's been up for years β€” sun fades colour more than people expect.
Is one room too small a job to bother you with?
Not at all. Single rooms, one accent wall, a scuffed hallway β€” small painting jobs are a core part of what we do, and they're often booked within days rather than weeks.
